A veterinary surgeon comforts a Short-toed Eagle, Circaetus gallicus, after a wing contusion, at the wildlife rehabilitation, rescue and breeding center 'Green Balkans' in the town of Stara Zagora, east of the Bulgarian capital Sofia, Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009. The center is unique in the Balkans, its goal being the rehabilitation, medical treatment, recovery and release into the wild of rescued birds and animals, as usually October is the most busy month for the rescue center.
